Woody's World
Australia
In 2013 Woody began “Woody’s World” with the aim to share children’s music and entertainment that could be loved by children, parents and carers alike. Their debut album “Good Morning Kids” was self-funded and released in 2014. The Good Morning Kids Show toured for several years around South Eastern Australia.
In 2017 Woody’s World launched “Woody’s Ukulele School”. In the following year the Ukulele Kids Show debuted at the Gasworks Arts Park showcasing puppets Hercules and Jasmina. The Ukulele Kids Show toured extensively in 2019, both independently and with the help of Regional Arts Victoria’s Education and Families program. In the past two years Woody and Woody’s World have taught over 7000 Victorian students and children to play ukulele at schools, festivals and regional venues across Australia.
Woody’s second studio album “Let’s Play!” was released in 2019 and was granted Australia Council funding for a national Woody’s World Tour (SA, QLD, Vic, Tas, NSW, NT). Unfortunately, the majority of this tour had to be cancelled or postponed due to Covid19 restrictions, and has been rescheduled for 2021.
In lockdown 2020 Woody took his ukulele school online, and with the help of Mahalo Ukuleles and Underground Media, a course featuring ukulele playing, musical literacy, comedy and puppetry was produced. In 2020 Woody also received a Fresh Start commission from ABC Kids for the composition of four songs for ABC Kids Listen. He also received funding to build out a Mobile Trailer Stage for self-sufficient and socially distant touring.
Woody is currently re-developing his ukulele school for global domination with the Ukulele Kids Club.
