Kris Boyd

Project Lead for Digital Storytelling, The Cultch

Kris Boyd is a creative technologist, digital project manager, technical director and audio technician who has been working in Vancouver’s performing arts scene for 25 years. 

He has been the Project Lead for Digital Storytelling at The Cultch since the project’s inception in 2019.  His current work encompasses digitally interactive, immersive and transmedia performance experiences, live and scheduled streaming video with integrated audience participation components, geo-located audio mobile apps, and virtual world building.

Significant collaborations include works with Theatre Replacement, Ronnie Burkett, The Transform Festival, Veronique West, Playwrights Theatre Centre, Lili Robinson, and Crow’s Theatre.  Kris has also enabled numerous companies to explore community building through virtual venue creation on the Gather platform, including The Cultch(Vancouver),  The Theatre Centre(Toronto), Prairie Theatre Exchange (Winnipeg), Playwright’s Guild of Canada, and Electric Company Theatre (Vancouver).
