Company AT powered by Tutti Arts

Australia

Company AT believes the best way to change the world is through art! The company gives Autistic people a voice to affect social change and live the life they choose. Through acting workshops, performances and digital exploration the company aims to produce professional productions and artists that express the totally unique and powerful perspective of Autistic people.

Originally an initiative of Autism SA, Company AT was founded by Julian Jaensch and Katharine Annear and is one of the world’s first fully Autistic performing arts ensembles, comprising 12 members and led by Artistic Director Julian Jaensch. Launched in 2009 and moving over to the auspice of Tutti Arts in 2012, Company AT has devised and performed three powerful productions, Framed Out (Australian Autism Conference 2009), History of Autism (Adelaide Fringe Festival 2014, Come Out Festival 2015) and Impersonal Space (2017 Queens Theatre, 2019 DreamBig Festival and 2020 Country Arts SA tour).
Following the success of a recent tour in regional South Australia of ‘Impersonal Space’, the company is driven to respond to the overwhelming community response of how important it is for a broader audience to experience this work. Company AT is currently exploring options for further touring of ‘Impersonal Space’ and are creating an interactive digital version of the production as an educational resource to give people around the world the opportunity to better understand the lived experience of Autistic people.
The company’s long term goal is to be known as a leader in the disability arts and have an international touring profile in a format that adapts to current global needs.
