Haneen Mahmood Martin

Haneen Mahmood Martin is a writer, artist and consultant based in Darwin who engages with the ideas of reclaiming and exploring culture, food, beauty and pop-media through making. Her other roles include being a Creative Producer with Next Wave, a Co-Manager of the National Young Writers’ Festival and Co-Producer for Darwin Fringe 2021. Haneen is also currently undertaking her MFA (Cultural Leadership) at NIDA.

Her written and visual arts work has been presented through The Guardian, SBS Voices, Frankie Magazine, Northern Territory Writers’ Festival, the Red Dirt Poetry Festival and many more. Earlier this year, Haneen was awarded a Regional Arts Australia Fellowship to work on her first book highlighting her experiences migrating to so-called Australia as a Malay-Arab Muslim child months before 9-11.
