Liz works is a producer for live entertainment at Artback NT in Darwin, Australia, finding the money and the people to help make theatre, music and dance shows happen. A majority of her work is done in Australia, but she has also toured to 13 countries throughout Asia, the Middle East and Europe as a Stage Manager (the main communication conduit for a production), Production Manager (oversight of the whole show’s logistics and technical requirements) and Tour Manager (the welfare and detail-management for the safe travel of the people in her care, and the show itself).
Her career has been built honing her skills in logistics management, creativity and communication between technical people and creative people, between audiences and venues, and between artists and investors. With this in mind, she would say she is overqualified to talk about people-pleasing and now what she has been learning about moving beyond it.
She is so excited to share how she is learning to listen to her own needs, how she shares honestly with those at work and home, and the boundaries that – particularly the ‘harsh’ ones – she has been discovering the need to implement professionally and personally.
