Playable Streets

Australia

Playable Streets is an innovative digital arts company creating public artworks that use technology to create human connections. Our mission is to engage and re-connect communities through collaborative art in public spaces, at home and online. At the heart of our work are accessible and collaborative experiences that involve a broad range of participants and communities.

We are a team of visual artists, designers, engineers and composers creating site-specific installations that transform public space, interactive art books and online installations and experiments. Playable Streets have created a series of works that explore public collaboration and collective play. Our works are flexible and site responsive and we collaborate with local groups to tell their stories, and celebrate their community through creative interaction.

We aim to give communities the opportunity for genuine agency by turning their creativity, stories and artworks into immersive public installations. We work with groups that want to connect with their community through interactive stories, music and art. Many of our works do not rely on language and all works can be interacted with in a variety of ways regardless of a participants’ ability level. We also present workshops for a diverse range of participants exploring the intersection of Music, Technology, Art and Design.
