Sue Healy
Choreographer & Filmmaker
Sue Healey is a Sydney-based choreographer, film-maker and installation artist. Her work has toured in the Asia Pacific region, most recently Red Brick Warehouse Yokohama, Japan; Freespace West Kowloon, Hong Kong and Aichi Arts Centre, Nagoya Japan. Experimenting with form and perception, Healey creates performance and film for diverse spaces and contexts: galleries, theatres and screens.
Sue has created many works for Australian companies and as an independent artist. She was awarded an Australia Council Creative fellowship in 2014 and an Honorary Fellowship of University of Melbourne in 2017. She has lectured in major tertiary dance institutions in Australia, NZ and Hong Kong over the past 30 years. Her Platform Paper No: 60 – ‘Capturing the Vanishing: A Choreographer and Film’ was published by Currency House in August 2019.
