Wendy Martin

In February 2021, Wendy Martin co-founded Half the Sky, a new cultural enterprise focused on developing projects to support gender equity and celebrate and empower women and girls. She is a non-executive director of Fuel Theatre, UK, Chunky Move Contemporary Dance Company, Melbourne and DADAA – Disability & Diversity in the Arts, Western Australia.

For the past twenty years, as Artistic Director of Perth Festival and Head of Performance and Dance at the Southbank Centre, London and the Sydney Opera House, Wendy has created and produced multi-artform festivals, commissions, events and public engagement programs driven by commitment to diversity and inclusion, place, context and community. She was founding producer of new festivals including Unlimited: A festival of work by Deaf and disabled artists, for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad and for Sydney Opera House, Spring Dance (2009) and Message Sticks (2001) in collaboration with a team of First Nations curators.
