10 Minute Dance Parties

Joseph O’Farrell (JOF)

Melbourne artist JOF welcomes you to 10 Minute Dance Parties, a free artwork that collaborates with local young wannabe DJs to provide you with the best ten minutes of your life!

This all-ages event asks you to have as much fun as you can with one catch – you only have ten minutes to dance. And dance you will! Whether it be before a show, with the family before dinner, after work or as part of your big night out, you are sure to have a blast. There will be world record attempts, dance move competitions, dedications, interpretations and ventures into the unknown. This is your party and we’re gonna do it all… but we only have ten minutes.

Students from Clontarf and Stars Foundation have worked with JOF to create a dance party to remember, organising everything from front of house and the decor to the tunes being spun. Get your dancing shoes on and come on down to Festival Park for 10 Minute Dance Parties.

The Clontarf Foundation exists to improve the education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and by doing so equips them to participate more meaningfully in society.

Stars Foundation uses a highly successful, tailored approach to provide holistic mentoring support to one of the most at-risk groups in Australia – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women. Stars operates full-time, intensive support programs for Indigenous girls in schools, with the aim of improving health and education outcomes for this cohort.
