Together with Darwin Festival we’ll be exclusively livestreaming The Legend of Queen Kong from the INPEX Sunset Stage at Festival Park.
The artist behind Yana Alana returns to Darwin with The Legend Of Queen Kong, a punk-rock comic, sci-fi cabaret of meteoric proportions.
Backed by queer and gender-diverse art band the HOMOsapiens, this colossal rock odyssey tells the story of a mythological, immortal being – part rock, part ape who journeys through time, space and matter to discover what it means to be human.
Bursting with hilarious pop culture references, unforgettable original music, mind-blowing visual projections by Will Huxley and animator Finn Scholes and featuring Deaf performer Asphyxia on screen and Auslan interpreter Kirri Dangerfield live, The Legend Of Queen Kong is performed in English and Auslan with subtitles, bass vibrations and a rocking live soundtrack!
