DAY ONE

In Person Gathering

APAM acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters, Communities and Culture. Under the guidance of its First Nation Advisory Group APAM supports global efforts in self-determined First Nations protocols and ceremonies when working and visiting the unceded lands on the Kulin Nations where the APAM Gathering at RISING will be held. These protocols and ceremonies are guided by Elders and Traditional Owners of Country.

The First day of the Gathering is deeply rooted in the acknowledgment of the unceded lands we gather on and awareness of respecting the connection to place, people and living Culture that is the Lore and compass of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People and the Boon Wurrung People of the Kulin Nations. APAM values these Lores and Customs and is committed to doing everything in its power to ensure that all participants in the APAM Gathering at Rising feel a genuine sense of cultural, emotional and physical safety during the event.

First Nations and non-First Nations visitors will have the opportunity to meet and be welcomed in the morning by the Boon Wurrung People at St Kilda and in the afternoon by the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People at North Melbourne. Following evening shows at RISING, we will party with local artists and Community at the YIRRAMBOI mixer.
