WTF14

13 – 23 February 2014

World Theatre Festival (WTF) is an 11-night long subversion of the habit of performance, taking place across Brisbane Powerhouse.

WTF14 will be bigger, more outlandish, more shocking, more subversive, and more beautiful than previous years, with a program aimed at transporting audiences around the globe.

With premiere performances, discussion panels, workshops, and live music, WTF14 is set to ignite Brisbane's creative scene.

Cai Guo-Qiang: Falling Back to Earth

This GOMA exclusive is from a truly global artist whose dramatic installations and explosion events have made him one of the most innovative figures in contemporary art. ‘Falling Back to Earth’ features three major installations, including two newly commissioned works directly inspired by the landscapes of southeast Queensland.

Promising to be both spectacular and meditative, and presenting a beautiful, thought-provoking vision of our relationship with the earth and with each other, ‘Falling Back to Earth’ is the must-see exhibition while in Brisbane.

 

Brisbane City Council’s BrisAsia Festival

Celebrate Brisbane and Asian connections at the inaugural BrisAsia Festiva. A number of free, cultural events will be held across the city featuring traditional and contemporary Asian arts, from music and majong to dumplings and dancing.
