“Masters of interactive play.” The Age (for Polyglot)

Polyglot Theatre and Papermoon Puppet Theatre present CERITA ANAK (CHILD’S STORY)

Wed 24 Feb 5:15pm - 5:30pm

10 minutes Powerhouse Theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse Family

The story of a child lost at sea performed inside a boat.

The long-running creative collaboration between Australia’s Polyglot and Indonesia’s Papermoon Puppet Theatre is taken to a new level with the development of an interactive performance work for pre-schoolers – Cerita Anak (Child’s Story). Climb aboard a boat and be rocked and rolled across the sea as you experience the story of a small Sri Lankan refugee boy who ends up in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne.

Cerita Anak takes the true story of a child adrift on the ocean and winds mythology and folk tale through it to make a drama on the high seas for very young audiences. Puppetry, image, song and sound are used to create an exciting new interactive experience.
