The Barons of Tang

Recognising no borders or musical boundaries, The Barons of Tang have created their own genre fondly referred to as ‘Gypsy Deathcore’.  Originally composing for circus troupes and The Black Lung Theatre, The Barons of Tang perform all original music compositions that incorporate gypsy, tango, folk, jazz, rock, circus, metal, punk and cabaret, inciting their audiences to up and dance from the first song.

Performing eclectic music and playing with melody expectations and time signatures, The Barons of Tang create a unique yet very accessible music that appeals to all ages. A highly dynamic, creative and virtuosic unit, The Barons of Tang push their instruments and play them in unexpected ways. Mixing Klezmer and Balkan feels with Jazz, Tango, Rockabilly, Latin, Bent Folk music and whatever’s lying around the kitchen, along with breaks, hard hitting guitar riffs, double kick blast beats and massive horn arrangements, the seven piece serve up their music with a phenomenal gusto and a theatrical on stage performance.

The Barons of Tang are a dynamic and creative collective and a well organised machine.  Their live show is adaptable to any performance environment and the group is amicable to creative collaborations with other artists and performers.
