Oslo Rogers has a very fun mum called Ruthy, and lives in a very fun town called Mellingong. But now a very unfun problem (a big approaching storm) is forcing everyone to head for the town hall on the hill. They can only take a few important things each: love luggage, Ruthy calls it. So Oslo sets out to help the people of Mellingong, and to find the things they love most; the things you would save from a storm.

As each character’s love luggage is described, the wonders of digital puppetry, using the Xbox Kinect, allow the world held within that object to come to life.  This sensory wonderment is shaped around the lyrical, heart-driven writing of Finegan Kruckemeyer, a stunning musical score, and Terrapin’s trademark silly business.

"Love is an amazingly multi-layered piece of visual theatre. It could even be one of those rare shows that burn brightly forever in the memories of the young children who are lucky enough to see it.” - Gai Anderson, Writeresponse.

“Puppetry, performance and technology come together well to serve the creation of strong and engaging drama… I really felt I was seeing something very new, and that was an exciting sensation.” - Andrew Harper, Australian Stage.

Terrapin Puppet Theatre

Terrapin Puppet Theatre is the Australian innovator of puppetry-based visual theatre embracing new technologies, creating contemporary storytelling, and touring and collaborating nationally and internationally.

The company is exploring digital puppetry, which uses new technologies and cross platform practice to continually challenge and redefine puppetry as a visual theatre form. Terrapin creates new works through research and developmental processes that are designed specifically for each work. Whilst Terrapin reaches to the future in its exploration of form and storytelling styles, it does so with its feet firmly grounded in the age-old craft of puppetry and theatre’s rich traditions.

Terrapin celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2011 by touring to the USA, Ireland and New Zealand.  The company has completed nine other international tours to countries as far afield as China, Singapore, Denmark, Hungary, Malaysia and Taiwan.
