Brisbane Transport

APAM TRANSFERS

During the official APAM 2014 program, transfer services between partner venues will be provided for all delegates. Delegtes needs to ensure to pick up a transfer schedule at The Depot or at a Help Desk. You can also view the schedule online in the designated delegate area of the APAM website.

DELEGATES:  you must find your own way to Brisbane Powerhouse on Tuesday, 18 February for delegate registration. Brisbane Powerhouse is located in the suburb of New Farm, on the Brisbane River next to New Farm Park (street address: 119 Lamington Street, New Farm). Depending on where you are staying, you can either walk, take public transport, hire a bike, or take a cab.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Brisbane’s public transport is operated by TransLink and includes ferries, buses and trains.

go cards

The cheapest way of travelling on Brisbane’s public transport is by using a go card, TransLink’s electronic ticket system. You can purchase go cards at selected retailers or online. The closest go card retailer to Brisbane Powerhouse is the 7-Eleven store at 79 Merthyr Road, New Farm.

Alternatively, paper tickets can be purchased from a ticket counter, the bus driver or ferry master.

CityCats and CityFerries

CityCats and CityFerries travel along the Brisbane River and provide a unique opportunity to explore the city.

Most APAM partner venues and APAM recommended hotels are located in walking distance to a CityCat or CityFerry terminal in New Farm (New Farm Park, Sydney Street), East Brisbane (Mowbray Park), Kangaroo Point (Dockside, Holman Street, Thorton Street), Brisbane City (Riverside, Eagle Street and North Quay) and South Bank.

A free ferry service called CityHopper is available between New Farm (Sydney Street) and Brisbane CBD (North Quay). CityHopper ferries are red; regular CityFerries and CityCats are blue.

Buses

The main buses from Brisbane Powerhouse to Fortitude Valley, Brisbane CBD and South Bank are the 199 and the 196.

A free bus service called CityLoop is available within the Brisbane CBD during business hours. CityLoop buses are red; regular buses are blue.

Trains

Trains connect Brisbane suburbs and surrounding areas with Brisbane CBD. The closest train stations for APAM locations are Fortitude Valley, City Central and South Brisbane.

Airtrain is a dedicated train service between Brisbane and the International and Domestic Terminals at Brisbane Airport. Airtrain operates seven days a week from 5:40 - 21:59hrs. For timetables and ticket information, visit airtrain.com.au.

BIKES
