Daytrips and Weekend Getaways

Moreton Bay

Incredibly, this paradise exists only 25 kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD and stretches from Bribie Island in the north to the Southern Bay Islands.

If you’re planning on staying in Brisbane a little longer, then why not take a day trip to Moreton Bay where you can indulge in some of the world’s best diving, get adventurous with some sand tobogganing, surfing or even whale watching.

Moreton Island

Just off Brisbane’s shore is the third largest sand island in the world. Crystal clear lakes and lagoons exist amongst tall sand dunes, abundant wildflowers and pristine beaches.

After you’ve hand-fed the dolphins under the stars, organise a trip to dive or snorkel amongst the mysterious wrecks and colourful coral reefs. The adventurous can try quad biking, four-wheel driving or sand tobogganing.

North Stradbroke Island

Straddie (to the locals) is known for some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere in Australia; Picture rugged coastal landscapes and white sandy beaches that appear to stretch on forever.

Three little townships on the island provide a relaxed village atmosphere with a variety of cafés and restaurants often filled with locals, surfers and sun-baked tourists.

Redlands

From the bustling coastal village of Wellington Point - known for its great fishing, boating, and water sports - to Victoria Point where seaside parks and esplanades draw family and friends to picnic, cycle, and swim, the Redlands is both a charming and revitalizing experience.

Scenic Rim

Follow the changing landscape west and you’ll find yourself in the Scenic Rim, Brisbane’s World Heritage listed backyard, home to lush rainforests, spectacular mountain ranges and ancient landforms.

This natural wonderland can be experienced in the air, on the water or across the land with hot air ballooning, fishing, water skiing and wine tasting waiting for you as you discover the winding roads and natural fauna and flora.

Gold Coast

Famous for its sun, surf and sand, the City of Gold Coast stretches along 57 kilometres of coastline and is just an hour’s drive South from Brisbane’s CBD,

Beyond the beautiful beaches is vast rainforest hinterland with breathtaking scenery - all a short drive from its regional centres.
