BRISBANE'S BIG BACKYARD BBQ

Mon 22 Feb 1:30pm - 3:30pm

2 hours New Farm Park, Brisbane Powerhouse

If there is one thing that Australians know how to do well, it’s host a backyard barbecue. This meet, greet and eat event by the stunning Brisbane River offers the perfect opportunity to get to know the artists, presenters, producers and managers who you’ll be sharing the five days of APAM with.

Some of APAM’s key stakeholders from the Australia Council for the Arts, Brisbane City Council, Arts Queensland and Tourism and Events Queensland will join us in this informal and relaxed environment.

Sunshine Coast songstress, AYLA, will supply entertainment throughout the afternoon accompanying intricate guitar with beautiful vocal lines.

MEET THE ARTIST

Over the last two years, sunshine coast’s AYLA has been steadily gaining attention on the Australian music scene for her mature and compelling writing style.
He debut single “Wish I Was” was released in early 2014, which immediately gained attention with Australian radio. The end of 2014 saw “Wish I Was” come in at #15 on
triple j’s most played list as well as gaining traction with European radio, resulting in a distribution deal with EGO Records in Italy (Emma Louise, The Jezabels).

Continuing to grow from strength to strength, AYLA released her debut EP in late 2015, with all three singles receiving high rotation on triple j. Straight off the back of a much loved ‘Like A Version’ & huge performances at 2015/16’s Woodford Folk Festival, AYLA is set to make 2016 her biggest year yet.
