“Like an episode of The Office meets a cage fight, Australian style.” Julian Louis, Artistic Director NORPA

The Farm with Performing Lines presents COCKFIGHT

Thu 25 Feb 12:45pm - 2:00pm

60 minutes Cremorne Theatre, QPAC 16yrs+

An ordinary day at the office becomes a dangerous physical game.

Two blokes in an office: one older, one younger. Each body is pushed to its limits in this dangerous, hilarious and ultimately tender piece of dance theatre. The men challenge each other in a series of comical one-upmanships that mount in an escalating game, ultimately exploding in the ‘overthrow’ of the older man.

Cockfight is a powerful new dance theatre work exploring the power play that occurs between men and the frailty of the body. At its heart is the very real relationship between its two performers, who have worked together for many years. Borders between theatre and reality blur - without each other these two performers have nothing left to fight for.

The Farm

The Farm is a collective of like-minded dance and theatre artists who share principals of collaboration as a means to make great art. Key to the group’s artistic style and output this has led to the creation of several national and internationally recognised projects.

The Farm use an established methodology to include all voices in the creation of their work, deliberately blurring the lines between artists and designers. Everyone brings their expertise to the table. Moving fluidly between the Gold Coast and Berlin, this collective aims to stay flexible in structure to respond to opportunities as they arise.

Cockfight was created with guest artist, Julian Louis.
