"Beautifully disorientating; Imagined Touch is an amazing insight to the world of the other and our selves." Bruce Gladwin

Jodee Mundy Collaborations Presents IMAGINED TOUCH

Wed 24 Feb 4:45pm - 5:00pm

10 minutes Powerhouse Theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse 16yrs+

A Deafblind live art, participatory and sensory theatre experience.

Imagined Touch is Australia's only professional work created in collaboration with Deafblind artists and one of the few in the world. It explores the importance of touch through a unique, interdisciplinary form that combines live art, theatre, tactile installation design and sensory performance.

Audiences are greeted by two Deafblind performers and a team of four tactile interpreters, who introduce them to the experience of living in a world without sight or sound. Wearing glasses and noise-cancelling headsets the audience is guided into an unseen installation filled with textures, vibrations and flashes of light. They are guided with pathos and humour by the performers through the installation using methods of tactile communication. Imagined Touch offers a rare insight into the Deafblind world.
