Chamber Made Opera presents PERMISSION TO SPEAK

Wed 24 Feb 3:15pm - 3:30pm

10 minutes Powerhouse Theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse 12yrs+

An intricate choral portrait of what is often left unspoken.

Under the powerful theme of voicing the unvoiced, Chamber Made Opera’s Permission to Speak fuses intricate choral counterpoint with pre-recorded interview fragments, speech, song and live performance. Director Tamara Saulwick is joined by acclaimed contemporary composer Kate Neal to embroider an intimate portrait of the parent/child, child/parent relationship as it exists and evolves through time.

Musings, diatribes, longings, regrets and hopes find voice as four performer/vocalists reveal the delicate dynamics that exist between individuals and those closest to them. Mother, father, child, hear this!
