“The most engrossing and satisfying work of physical theatre I’ve seen in the better part of a decade: strange and terrific indeed.” The Australian

WE3 presents THE LONG PIGS

Thu 25 Feb 6:15pm - 6:45pm

30 minutes Concert Hall, QPAC 16yrs+

You are asleep in the night of the long pigs. You wake up laughing to discover everything you hate is true.

Perceived as an underground clown cult, The Long Pigs takes its title from the Melanesian Pidgin for ‘human flesh’.

Three paranoid comrades work, play and ritualise.  These black nose clowns, attired in an array of surgical and abattoir garb, have been scalping clown noses and slicing the very symbol of innocence off their once red nose cousins. Thrilled muttering drives their joy, as a pile of shiny red noses emerges from beneath a rusty bucket.

A profound, stylistically and visually arresting performance rooted in physical and black comedy, The Long Pigs is a remix of conventional theatrical forms amidst a murky soup of mutual distrust and suspicion. It’s genuinely funny yet destructively dark – and definitely not for kids!
