Shaun Parker & Company presents XY

Wed 24 Feb 7:15pm - 7:30pm

10 minutes Powerhouse Theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse 16yrs+

Science meets dance in this investigation of the XY chromosome.

XY (working title) is Shaun Parker’s new dance theatre work that investigates the XY chromosome of the human male. Parker utilises the extraordinary movement skills of nine male performers to investigate how the XY chromosome, from a chemical, biological, and psychological perspective, shapes the male brain on both a microscopic and macroscopic level.

Shaun Parker’s work is consistently routed in scientific investigation and explores different aspects of the human condition through movement, dance and physical expression. This latest work XY will take the genetic science of this chromosome and transform it through the theatrical canvas of the human male body on stage.
