pvi collective present black market
Immerse yourself in black market, where game play and live performance come together in the real world
Would you be prepared to lose your shoes in order to partake in some guerrilla gardening? Or swap a personal memory for a lesson in stencilling? black market is a participatory experience where goods and services are exchanged for public interventions on the streets at night. Barter, exchange and gift your possessions or skills whilst finding a way to give back to the community.
black market is a real world experiment exploring alternative currencies in response to the dire global economic situation. Markets are crashing, austerity measures are in place, economic theory has failed us: black market is our last best hope…

Mostly situated in public spaces, their artworks use play and appropriate games and game theory to explore the social dynamics of the cities we live in. Every artwork aims to affect audiences on a personal and political level, and is geared towards instigating tiny revolutions. pvi collective aim to stretch the limits of performance to the edges of its meaning by creating playfully subversive performances and interventions, taking their audiences along for the ride.
