City Jungle is an intense and exciting new collaboration between Synergy Percussion, filmmaker Tokyo Love-In and producer Noxious Aquatic. It explores the sensory bombardment, beauty and grit of modern city life through the British electronica genre Jungle, dubstep and stopframe animation.
Frenetic urban visuals, virtuosic live percussion and digital programming all thrash it on the stage in one exhilarating multimedia experience. Synergy Percussion’s lush sound-world of marimbas, vocals and futuristic gadgets are pitted against the raw power of the Jungle aesthetic. City Jungle is fun, funky, uncompromising, and, like the fiercely urban environments of Jungle’s origin, just a little dangerous.

Synergy Percussion’s journey began in 1974 and since then the group has commissioned over 30 works by Australian and international composers. With an international reputation as one of Australia’s finest and most versatile music projects, they are at home on world music stages, contemporary and experimental art venues, pop and rock concerts, and opera and recital stages. Synergy Percussion is both subtle and a tour-de-force, descriptive, emotional, melodic and rhythmically athletic and their percussive performances touch audiences with beauty and expressive diversity.
