Michael James Mania packs a mighty punch. Dominion (NZ)
Taki Rua Productions presents Michael James Manaia (NZ) by John Broughton
Iconic Kiwi theatre that is raw, humorous and unsentimental
What do you do when the country you grew up in, the country you fought for, has no place for you? Michael James Manaia is a raw and riveting story of a New Zealand man who, after returning from the Vietnam War, finds himself at odds with his culture, his history and his memories. Packed full of dynamic theatrical action and colourful characters, the audience follows Michael's journey through childhood, family, love, grief, violence, conflict and passion in an emotional one man tour-de-force performance.
Twenty years after it first stunned audiences around the world, Michael James Manaia remains as powerful and poignant as ever.
