The Australia Council for the Arts is the Australian Government’s arts funding and advisory body.

Brisbane Powerhouse is Brisbane’s home of contemporary culture.
The building was originally a working power station which electrified the city from the 1920s to the 1970s.
Afterwards the building was abandoned to the city’s artists, rebels and fringe-dwellers who used it as a performance space, home and underground hang-out.
In 2000 Brisbane City Council redeveloped the building into a centre for arts and is now home to a year-round program of festivals and events.
Cornerstone events include WTF: a festival of contemporary performance, Brisbane Comedy Festival, MELT, Brisbane Queer Film Festival, Queensland Cabaret Festival, IRL, Wonderland, and free music programs Livespark and Waxing Lyrical. Brisbane Powerhouse also presents a wide variety of cabaret, dance, music, theatre, comedy, visual arts, film, markets, circus and community events.
Brisbane Powerhouse is the host of APAM 2014, 2016 and 2018 and co-presents the market with the Australia Council.

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) is Queensland’s premiere performing arts venue and works to create a world where the performing arts matters to everyone.

The Judith Wright Centre is Brisbane’s home of cabaret, circus, dance and contemporary performance.
Located in the heart of Fortitude Valley’s creative precinct, they are also the base for internationally recognised companies such as Circa, Expressions Dance Company, Carbon Media and the Institute of Modern Art.
Through their Fresh Ground initiative, the Centre supports Queensland artists to develop and present works that connect with audiences locally, nationally and internationally.
