“Balancing harrowing intensity with intricate psychology, nerve-shredding brutality with jet-black humour, it's a vital and undogmatic exploration of misogyny.”

ANIMAL

In a remote town, two sisters prepare for society. One punch at a time.

Animal is an unrelenting, provocative and remorseless vision developed in response to violence towards women. In a remote town, two sisters hover on the edge of society. They begin a relentless quest to prepare for the predators circling outside.

Created in collaboration by Susie Dee, Kate Sherman and Nicci Wilks, with a highly acclaimed creative team including Kelly Ryall, Angus Cerini, Marg Horwell and Andy Turner, this is visceral and imagistic theatre. It shines a spotlight on the cycle of violence, creating meaning through inexorable repetition and brutal exposure on the female body.

Influx

Influx is a collective of theatre makers led by Susie Dee, Kate Sherman and Nicci Wilks that aims to develop new Australian contemporary political work that empowers women and gives them a voice. Its founders all share a similar aesthetic and a passion for raw new work that has heightened physicality and is visceral in nature.

Combining their skills and practices in acrobatics, circus, body weather, theatre, butoh, music, multimedia and design, this exciting cross-generational creative team makes work that is bold, unafraid and reveals humanity in all its complexities and ugliness.
