The company also facilitates work from emerging artists, provides professional skill development opportunities, collaborates with local and international companies, and contributes to the evolution of contemporary puppetry.
Theatre Research Institute is the only group of theatre makers and designers in Australia with a prime focus on sustainability without concept compromise. We make sets, props, costumes and puppets. With a strong ethic of independence, we are open to collaboration, experimentation, and innovation. We produce, incubate, and give support to exceptional theatre makers and designers. We also run workshops and masterclasses. Our Melbourne space is available for theatre research, rehearsals, studio hire and artists residencies.
