It was only when Jodee was five years old and lost at Kmart that she realised her whole family were Deaf.
Personal is a smart, touching and deeply personal story exploring dis/ability and how we perceive one another.
The position of the child of Deaf adults – as interpreter, authority, conduit – becomes the central image as Mundy shares the experience of her duality in living in two worlds.
Performed in Auslan and English and using video projection mapping, super 8 footage from her childhood and excerpts of family interviews, Mundy walks us through her personal story.

Jodee Mundy Collaborations is an independent creative producing company formed in 2012.
Artistic director Jodee Mundy is committed to producing high quality theatre works, public events, installations and artistic interventions that bring together diverse cross sections of the community who may not regularly encounter one another. Her artistic aim is for audiences to witness works that challenge and inspire them to acknowledge the value of live performance and communities and the ability of the art to redefine and skew the notions of inclusiveness. Mundy received the 2017 Green Room Award for Innovation in Experiential Theatre for Imagined Touch.
