Journey through a digital mash up of Shakespeare's Measure For Measure as you move through the city's places of power and pleasure

Since I Suppose takes you on an immersive journey through the city and its places of power and pleasure incorporating digital technologies, intimate interactions and (some of) Shakespeare’s Measure For Measure.

Woven from shards of text, music and instructions, accompanied by mash-ups of internet-scavenged YouTube audition pieces and audio from classic Shakespearean productions, the audience moves through the city, watching, reflecting and responding to what they experience. Since I Suppose is less a version of Shakespeare’s classic play than a participatory play upon it.

one step at a time like this is Melbourne-based artist group that creates place-responsive and conversation-based works that entail audience agency and usually involve a digital media element. The connective nature of their works reflects the company's interest in engaging audience members in the activity, and by extension, the creation of the work itself.

Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and award-winning Richard Jordan Productions are presenting partners for the world premiere of Since I Suppose in May 2014.
