About APAM

APAM, a strategic initiative of Creative Australia, will be delivered by PAC Australia until 2030, with funding support from the Western Australian Government.

APAM provides a platform for Australian theatre, dance, music and experimental arts to connect with both national and international opportunities. The next APAM gatherings will take place in Boorloo/Perth, Western Australia, in 2026, 2028, and 2030.

What’s the difference between APAX and APAM?

 

APAX is the Australian Performing Arts Exchange, APAM is the Australian Performing Arts Market.

APAM is a strategic initiative of Creative Australia to showcase Australian and Aotearoa/New Zealand contemporary dance, theatre, music, emerging and experimental arts, nationally and internationally.

From 2026 – 2030 APAM will be hosted in Boorloo/Perth, Western Australia, produced by PAC Australia, biennially. If you are an Australian or New Zealand artist or producr interested in international export opportunities, APAM might be the right platform for you!

APAX is a yearly event, hosted by PAC Australia, and the national market and professional development gathering for performing arts workers across Australia. APAX takes place in a new location across Australia each year, in 2025 APAX was hosted in Garramilla | Darwin and in 2026 it will be held in Meanjin | Brisbane. APAX is part arts market and part conference and includes the PAC Australia IMPACT Awards.
