Program
Curiosity. Connection. Culture.
The Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM) is Australia’s leading international industry event showcasing the best contemporary performing arts from Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand.
An initiative of Creative Australia and managed by PAC Australia, APAM 2026 brings together artists, producers, presenters, and cultural leaders from across the region and the world.
For the first time APAM was hosted in Boorloo/Perth, Western Australia, running alongside Perth Festival, on the lands of the First Peoples of the Noongar Nation, the Whadjuk people.
Delegates engaged in pitches, showcases, conversations, and provocations, designed to connect artists with presenters and foster opportunities for touring, co-production, and exchange. A dedicated brokering program supported presenters in making direct and meaningful connections with featured artists and projects.
From First Nations storytelling and culturally diverse voices to physical theatre, circus, dance, theatre (with a spotlight on theatre for young audiences), APAM 2026 offered a window into the region’s most exciting contemporary work. The program reflected themes of identity, inclusion, environmental awareness, and social provocation.
APAM 2026 was a marketplace for ideas, exchange and collaboration, strengthening connections across the sector and expanding pathways for global touring.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Perth during the city’s summer and connected with leading performance makers and taking part in the conversations shaping the future of contemporary performance.
