Sustainability
APAM acknowledges we are in the midst of a climate emergency and is committed to taking meaningful steps towards a brighter future for our planet. We stand in solidarity with those advocating for immediate climate action and believe that positive steps must be taken by all members of the community to create lasting change.
The Reforest Initiative
PAC Australia is proud to continue our partnership with Reforest Australia, building on our successful collaborations for APAX Cairns (2023), APAX Melbourne (2024) and APAX Darwin (2025). Reforest Australia is a Queensland-based social enterprise, drives authentic climate and nature-positive action by planting trees in high-quality, local reforestation projects.
When you register for APAM 2026 you will have the opportunity to contribute to the Doonan Community Restoration Project. Regenerating nature through projects such as these is an important way in which our community can take responsibility for the emissions impact of our work.
You can track the impact of the trees purchased through PAC Australia’s dedicated Reforest event dashboard.
Our Sustainability Commitment
We are committed to reducing the carbon emissions impact of the delivery of the event by:
- Offering plant-based catering options whenever possible.
- Ensuring that any leftover food is responsibly redistributed through local food services or composted by our catering partners.
- Avoiding single-use plastics across all event deliverables.
- Significantly reducing print materials and prioritising digital distribution.
- Ensuring name badges and marketing materials are made from recycled materials and have an end-of life plan.
- Partnering with accommodation providers that are climate-friendly, low-energy and within walking distance of events, where possible.
- Partner with venues adopting climate action or are committed to working with us to embed sustainable processes for event delivery.
- Measuring the carbon footprint of the event and delegate travel.
- In recognition of all staff travel emissions, investing in the renewal of high-impact biodiverse projects to support nature to restore and regenerate.
